Resthome — MDA insurance verification screen

Resthome — MDA insurance screen

From the resident record to the health insurer's response.

Four steps, zero re-entry. Here is what the user does — and what Resthome does for them.

1

One click on "Verify MDA"

From a resident's record or directly on a billing period.

2

The request goes out

To the health insurer via MyCareNet, WalCareNet or IrisCareNet depending on the region.

3

The response is read

Resthome automatically interprets the health insurer's insurance response.

4

The record is up to date

Insurance data filled in — or a clear alert if the resident is not covered.

Designed for the people who do the billing.

The billing and admission team of nursing homes (MR), nursing and care homes (MRS) and short-stay centers (CSJ) verifies insurance without ever leaving Resthome or logging into a health-insurer portal.

Filled in automatically on the record

  • BIM status — beneficiary of increased reimbursement
  • Health insurer and insurer codes (CT1 / CT2)
  • Resident's member number
  • Dated "insured" or "not insured" status

A whole period, in a single send.

Individual or batch, synchronous or asynchronous — Resthome covers every day-to-day case.

An entire batch

Verify all residents in a billing period at once.

Monthly refresh

A scheduled job re-checks insurance every month, with no manual action.

Retry failures

A button retries only the verifications that didn't succeed.

Uninsured highlighted

Residents who are not in good standing show up immediately for handling.

Serving your billing process.

Insurance verification is not an end in itself: it secures the send to health insurers.

No blind sends

A billing period cannot be sent until insurance is confirmed for every resident.

Reintegration at the right time

If a resident's insurance is reinstated, Resthome flags it so they can be re-added to billing.

Fewer rejections

Billing an uninsured resident triggers a rejection from the health insurer. Upfront verification prevents this.

Accreditation

An officially accredited service.

Resthome's MDA insurance verification is accredited by the National Intermutualist College (CIN), in both synchronous and asynchronous modes, for the nursing-home sector. Accreditation signed on May 8, 2026; gradual rollout, in coordination with the CIN.

Frequently asked

What is MDA (Member Data)?

It is the Belgian service for checking a social insured person's insurance with their health insurer: are they covered, do they have BIM status, which health insurer, which insurer codes.

Do you still need to check insurance manually?

No. Resthome queries the health insurer and updates the resident record automatically (BIM status, health insurer, insurer codes), individually or for a whole period.

What's the difference between synchronous and asynchronous?

Synchronous mode checks a resident immediately. Asynchronous mode processes an entire batch and retrieves the responses a little later. Both are available and accredited.

How does this relate to billing?

A billing period cannot be sent until insurance is confirmed for every resident. This avoids rejections from the health insurer and payment delays.

Which networks and which facilities?

MyCareNet (federal), WalCareNet (Wallonia) and IrisCareNet (Brussels), for nursing homes (MR), nursing and care homes (MRS) and short-stay centers (CSJ).

Is the service accredited?

Yes, by the National Intermutualist College (CIN), in synchronous and asynchronous modes, for the nursing-home sector. Gradual rollout, in coordination with the CIN.
