An individualized care plan.
Every resident has an active care plan that documents:
- Needs assessment: level of assistance required for daily activities
- Identified risks: falls, pressure sores, malnutrition, dehydration
- Care goals: scheduled interventions by category with completion tracking
- Diet: adapted to the resident's conditions and preferences
Activating a new plan automatically closes the previous one. Only one plan is active per resident at a time.
Medication safety
The prescription is automatically blocked if the resident has a critical allergy to a component of the medication.
A warning is shown but the doctor can validate the prescription with full knowledge.
The system also checks cross-allergies between related substances.

How many types of care can be scheduled?
Eleven types covering the full range of care in a nursing home: vital signs, wound care, medications, hygiene, mobility, nutrition, doctor and specialist visits, therapies, exams and any uncategorized care.
How does allergy checking work?
Resthome automatically cross-checks each prescription against the resident's allergies. A critical allergy blocks the prescription; a moderate allergy shows a warning; cross-reactivities between related substances are also checked.
What is the SAM database?
The SAM database (Authentic Source of Medicines) is the official Belgian medication reference. Resthome relies on it for prescriptions, interaction checks and administration tracking.
Can caregivers work on a tablet?
Yes. The interface is optimized for bedside entry: quick administration marking, vital-sign entry and nursing notes in seconds.
How are care plans managed?
Each resident has a single active care plan documenting the needs assessment, risks, goals and diet. Activating a new plan automatically closes the previous one.
